What contribution do you see yourself making to the Young Professionals Council and the SAIMM? :
I have a heart of service. Having been chairperson in my final year at the University of Pretoria for the Department of Material Science and Metallurgy, working closely with students has been the highlight of years at tertiary, well and finally graduating. I would like to continue with that as I am now officially in the mining industry. It’s my second year in the industry and I believe that there is some knowledge I could share with undergraduates. Being part of different committees has taught me the ability to plan events and to work as a team with others. I believe that us young people are the future and the change required in South Africa. And it is our duty to contribute where we can and this is my way of giving back to the industry by participating in hopefully being part of the council.
